Gel Nails and Acrylic Nails…
What is the difference?
There is a lot of talk about what is better– Gel or Acrylic. Most nail technicians have a preferred style and they will tell you the one they like best. in all honesty both type have their advantages and disadvantages– knowing them can help you choose which style is best for you.
Acrylic nails are super strong. They have little or no flexibility. They tend to be a little thicker than the gel nails. You can bang these nails around a little and they will withstand a certain amount of pressure. With careful home grooming, clients can often draw the acrylic refills out to 3 weeks.
Gel nails are a softer, more flexible nail. They have a little bit of ‘give’ in them and do mimic a natural nail. They are a thinner, clearer product and can easily pass as the clients “own” nails. They do need to be filled every two weeks and are not great for women who have their hands in water a lot. We do both kinds of nails at YVB– so that you can choose whichever set you think will suit you best.

Pedicures
Our Standard Pedicure starts off with a foot bath, calloused and rough skin is removed and softened, then your cuticle are trimmed back, nails clipped and shaped and your treatment ends with a foot massage and your toenails painted. Just over an hour with drying time.
The Deluxe Pedicure adds some special treats and a bit more time to the standard pedi. A clay mask is applied to your feet and ankles, while that sits you have a choice of having a hand massage or your fingernails painted to match your toes. This treatment also includes a drink of your choice.
